There are numerous conversion utilities out there, for all sorts of file types, including audio and video files, images or documents. If you don't want to keep so many applications on your computer, you can opt for File Converter. It lets you convert media files and documents, but the best part is that you don't have to do it on a dedicated user interface. The application enables you to convert files at a moment's notice, through context menu options.

File Converter is offered as a freeware application, but donations are welcomed, if you wish to support further developments. Downloading and installing the software doesn't take more than a minute. The hardware requirements are modest, but you need to have MS Office installed, if you wish to convert documents.

The application works quietly in the background and you don't have to interact with a user interface. Once File Converter is installed, all you have to do is right click a supported file, on a standard Explorer window, and choose an output format from a sub-menu. It is also possible to select and convert multiple files. The application will process all the targeted files in a single run.

File Converter is capable of converting video and audio files, as well as images. Furthermore, the application supports a wide range of output formats. When it comes to documents, you can convert MS Office files to PDF.

Once you convert a file, you can access a series of logs and you can also access the application's general settings menu. It contains a wide range of options, for managing the input and output formats, as well as a few options for tweaking the software's behavior.

Converting files between different formats can be done at a moment's notice, with only a few clicks, thanks to File Converter's straightforward functionality.

Pros

You can convert files through context menu options. The application supports a wide range of input and output formats. Also, it provides you with a good number of configuration options.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to mention.
